Gauging the Philippine hospitality market at the Hotel Investment Conference Philippines 2016 – Makati City, Philippines | January 27-28, 2016

About 200 decision makers from eight different countries had gathered in this two-day Hospitality Investment Conference Philippines (HICP) at Raffles Fairmont, Makati, Philippines from January 27-28, 2016, organized by Sphere Conference who handles similar conferences in Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia and Indian Ocean. Opening the conference is Usec. Benito Bengzon Jr. of the Department of Tourism (DoT) sharing his insights on Philippine tourism being one of the fastest growing economy in Asia.

Featured in the conference among other top notch speakers in the hospitality and tourism industry is Co-Chair of HICP, Cyndy Tan Jarabata, President of Tajara Leisure & Hospitality Group, who led the first day of the conference and citing three key takeaways in today's market. First, the rise of the middle class, leading to a sizeable domestic tourism market is a big deal and to be taken seriously. That could easily come up to about 63% of the work force having the propensity to spend tourism dollars. Second, the sentiment of the owner-managed hotel properties being more profitable than 3rd-party-managers is now a transient trend. Third, hotel owners and operators to seriously contemplate on the reality of having to keep up with travel trends led by millennial travellers – it is no longer just a generation gap, it is the current travelers’ way of life regardless of age.

HICP’s Co-Chairman is Bill Barnett, Managing Director of Thailand-based C9 Hotelworks, who led the 2nd day of the conference with topics covering management contracts, branded residences, resort destinations and gaming industry.

Join the next HICP conference set on February 16-17, 2017 with theme "Uncover the Next Hospitality Investment Opportunities in the Philippines."

The 2nd REIT Asia Pacific Philippines 2010 Summit slated in Manila

The Pinnacle Group International - Singapore (TPGI), in partnership with The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE), Investment House Association of the Philippines (IHAP), Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX), Money Market Association of the Philippines (MART), CFA Philippines (CFAP) and the Asian Public Real Estate Association (APREA), will be hosting the 2nd Annual REIT Asia Pacific Philippines 2010 Summit on 27 – 28 July 2010 at the New World Hotel, Makati City, Philippines.

The 2nd Annual REIT Asia Pacific Philippines 2010 Summit is a follow through to the success of the Summit's 1st instalment, the REIT Asia Pacific Philippines 2009 "Key to Philippine Capital Market's Growth" held on 30 September 2009 at The Heritage Hotel in Manila.

Under the Summit's theme, "Strengthens. Deepens. Sustains.", The Pinnacle Group International will provide participants and guests with all the information, insight and contacts needed to capitalize on the newest opportunities that can be brought upon by the enactment of REIT Act in the Philippines.

After the REIT Act has earlier lapsed into law on December 17, 2009, the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has released a draft for the much-awaited ground rules for a new law that will allow property developers an alternative means to raise funds while giving the public a new investment instrument.

Ms. Cyndy Tan-Jarabata of TAJARA Leisure and Hospitality Group will join the roster of speakers for the said event with the topic "Hospitality: Maintaining profitability and protecting capital values in the current climate" with the following highlights:

  • Assessing the market areas that remain the most profitable;
  • Calculating which geographical areas maintain the highest RevPAR;
  • Deciding which type of management contracts ensure greatest returns;
  • Evaluating the value of brand in agreeing management contracts.

For further inquiries regarding the summit you may contact Ms. Jenz Mansilla, Conference Director through these numbers +65 6846 2712 and +65 9838 7898. Or contact her through e-mail at jen.mansilla@tpgi.org.
